This research is qualitative research with a phenomenological approach. Data collection methods use observation, interviews, and documentation. Meanwhile, data analysis techniques refer to Miles and Hubermann, namely data reduction, data display (data presentation), and conclusion drawing/verification (drawing conclusions). The results of this research are that the implementation of this extracurricular includes two stages, namely the preparation stage and the process stage. Meanwhile, the results of the development of students' linguistic intelligence through the English Club extracurricular activities include listening skills, speaking skills, writing skills, and reading skills. The supporting factors are the strong role of the principal, the professional quality of teachers, good student interest and intelligence, and tools or media that are easy to obtain. Meanwhile, inhibiting factors include this activity not being mandatory material, lack of interest in tutoring at home, and learning media that has not been updated.

Keyword: English Club, Linguistic Intelligence, SMAN 8 Serang City
Annisa Kinanti, Hana Silviana, Marcel Gusti Noverdo, Meilani Luthfiyyah Wijaya, Muchamad Abduh, Nurul Octashifa Wibisono, Ridho Hidayatullah, Rio Ferdinansyach, Sara Alfi Muhammad Dzikry, Selvia Putri, Zahrotul Fadilla Copyright (c) 2023 Aisyah Journal of English Language Teaching (AIJELT) https://journal.aisyahuniversity.ac.id/index.php/AIJELT/article/view/1413 Wed, 29 Nov 2023 03:56:31 +0000 Investigating Students’ Perception of Peer Assessment Practice in an EFL Academic Writing Class https://journal.aisyahuniversity.ac.id/index.php/AIJELT/article/view/1434
Contrary findings have been revealed in the research on students' perspectives regarding peer assessment practice in the writing classroom. While several studies showed that peer assessment assisted students in identifying their strengths and shortcomings in writing skills, others considered this application to have a limited effect on students’ writing performance and encouraged little corrections. Nevertheless, some other research mentioned the fairness of this method towards the development of students’ composition. This recent study examines the perspectives of a group of university students in the English Education Study Program at Artha Wacana Christian University, who are mainly foreign language learners, on peer assessment in an English Academic Writing class. This study found that students’ perspectives regarding peer assessment are overall positive, and this practice improves the quality of their written work. However, in terms of interaction, the duration of time, and the application of peer assessment, some aspects reveal negative responses from the research subjects, which put a position on the neutral effect of this strategy. This study's findings are expected to reflect the participants’ responses on using peer assessment. It is also hoped that the findings from this study will be helpful for future research in designing a better peer assessment process and improving its implementation.

Key words: Peer assessment, EFL classroom, Academic writing
Festif Rudolf Hoinbala Copyright (c) 2023 Aisyah Journal of English Language Teaching (AIJELT) https://journal.aisyahuniversity.ac.id/index.php/AIJELT/article/view/1434 Wed, 29 Nov 2023 03:59:26 +0000 AN AN ANALYSIS OF STUDENT’ SATISFACTION AND DISSATISFACTION EXPERIENCE AND LEARNING STYLE ON REMOTE LEARNING AT 8th SEMESTER OF ENGLISH DEPARTEMENT IN UNIVERSITY OF SULTAN AGENG TIRTAYASA https://journal.aisyahuniversity.ac.id/index.php/AIJELT/article/view/1411
This research has its goals to find out what students have experienced in remote learning and additionally to find out what most of the students applied in their learning style in 8th-semesters of the English department at the University of Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa.
