Abstract

Mothers after cesarean section often face breastfeeding challenges due to delayed milk secretion as well as psychological conditions such as anxiety, pain, and postpartum fatigue, which may affect the oxytocin reflex. This community service activity aimed to provide complementary midwifery care assistance through the application of warm compresses and oxytocin massage to support breastfeeding and enhance maternal comfort and psychological well-being. The activity was conducted at RSUP Dr. M. Djamil Padang and involved postpartum mothers, midwives, lecturers, and family members as a support system. The methods included health education, demonstration of warm compress and oxytocin massage techniques, and direct assistance in applying the interventions. Evaluation was carried out through observation of maternal responses, participant feedback, and monitoring of the breastfeeding process. The results indicated that mothers felt more relaxed, comfortable, and confident in breastfeeding and gained a better understanding of safe and easily applicable complementary midwifery care techniques. This assistance also strengthened family involvement and created a more positive emotional environment.
