Abstract

Employees' turnover is now a fundamental issue in the banking industry. This may be due to the fact that the nature of the services rendered by banks requires keeping and maintaining competent employees. This study examined the Relationship between Job Burnout and Turnover Intentions among Employees of Guaranty Trust Bank Osun State, Nigeria. The specific objectives were to examine the influence of emotional exhaustion (a dimension of job burnout) on turnover intentions among employees of Guaranty Trust Bank in Osun State. evaluate the influence of personal accomplishment (a dimension of job burnout) on turnover intentions among employees of Guaranty Trust Bank in Osun State. examine the influence of job burnout on employee turnover intention. investigate the influence of distributive justice on turnover intentions among employees of Guaranty Trust Bank in Osun State. identify the influence of procedural justice on turnover intentions among employees of Guaranty Trust Bank in Osun State. investigate the influence of organizational justice on employee turnover intention

Descriptive research design was used in this study. Sample size of 188 respondents participated in the study. Questionnaire format was used for data collection. Collected data were analyzed with descriptive, correlation analysis with the aid of statistical package for social sciences SPSS version 25.0

The results revealed that Job burnout was significantly and positively related to turnover intentions among employees of Guaranty Trust Bank in Osun State {r (186) =..451**}; emotional exhaustion (a dimension of job burnout) was significantly and positively related to turnover intentions among employees of Guaranty Trust Bank in Osun State {r (186) =..36**, P<.01}, that depersonalization (a dimension of job burnout) was significantly and positively related to turnover intentions among employees of Guaranty Trust Bank in Osun State {r (186) =..75**, P<.01},.

It was concluded that Job burnout was significantly and positively related to turnover intentions among bank employees in Guaranty Trust Bank And recommended that Job burnout should be explored by the management in order to have understanding about the reasons due to which employees of guarantee trust bank feel themselves as burned out.
