Abstract

  Abstract Cervical cancer is one of the leading causes of mortality among women. Low knowledge among women of reproductive age is a contributing factor to delayed early detection. This research objective is to determine the effect of cervical cancer prevention education on the knowledge level of women of reproductive age. This research employed a quasi - experimental design with a one - group pretest – posttest approach. The population consisted of 642 women of reproductive age, with a sample of 86 respondents selected using accidental sampling. The research instrument was a questionnaire assessing knowledge about cervical cancer. Data analysis included the Kolmogorov – Smirnov normality test and the Paired t - Test. The average knowledge score before education was 6.73, and after education increased to 10.97, with a p - value = 0.000 (<0.05). This indicates a significant effect of the educational intervention on improving the knowledge of women of reproductive age. Cervical cancer prevention education was effective in enhancing respondents’ knowledge. Health workers are encouraged to provide routine education using leaflet media to increase awareness regarding early detection of cervical cancer. The findings of this study are expected to serve as additional insight and practical guidance for midwives in applying their knowledge related to cervical cancer prevention among women of reproductive age
