Abstract

One of the major causes of undernutrition in children, particularly among those aged 6–24 months, is inadequate maternal knowledge regarding nutritional care and appropriate feeding practices. This is closely related to the poor quality and quantity of Complementary Feeding (CF) provided to infants. Population: The study population consisted of 30 mothers with infants aged 6–24 months, selected using a total sampling technique. September 2025. This study employed a quantitative approach using a quasi-experimental design. Data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon test, and the research instrument used was a structured questionnaire.

The study demonstrated that good maternal knowledge is influenced by educational interventions delivered through video media. Video-based education was effective in improving mothers’ knowledge on Complementary Feeding (CF), as audio-visual media are easier to understand, more engaging, and enhance mothers’ motivation to pay attention to information. This was evident from the increased knowledge scores before and after the video intervention (Lestari, 2021). The aim of this study was to determine the effect of video-based education on mothers’ knowledge regarding the provision of Complementary Feeding for infants aged 6–24 months in the working area of Bandung Baru Public Health Center.

Bivariate statistical analysis using the Wilcoxon test showed a z-score of –5.014b with a p-value of 0.000, indicating that means that video-based education had a significant effect on increasing mothers’ knowledge on Complementary Feeding for infants aged 6–24 months at Bandung Baru Public Health Center of Pringsewu.

The results of this study have implications for mothers with infants aged 6–24 months. Mothers are advised to consistently pay attention to correct CF practices, including the type, amount, and timing of feeding. Mothers are also encouraged to consult midwives if they encounter difficulties or require further clarification.
