ASUHAN KEBIDANAN BERKELANJUTAN PADA IBU HAMIL TRIMESTER III HINGGA KELUARGA BERENCANA: STUDI KASUS

Abstract

Comprehensive and evidence-based continuous midwifery care is a crucial pillar in detecting and managing maternal and newborn health problems. This descriptive case study aims to document the application of standard midwifery care in a single case encompassing pregnancy, childbirth, postpartum care, newborn care, and family planning. Data were collected through interviews, physical examinations, observation, and document review. Analysis was conducted descriptively through the stages of the midwifery care process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The main identified problem was leucorrhoea during pregnancy. Key interventions provided were personal hygiene education and monitoring with litmus paper. The delivery process proceeded normally, supported by pelvic rocking exercises using a peanut ball for comfort. During the postpartum period, oxytocin massage and breast care successfully increased breast milk production. The baby was born in good condition and received all essential newborn care. The mother also received family planning counselling using a Contraceptive Method Choice Aid (ABPK) and chose the three-month injection method according to her needs. This case study demonstrates that the standard application of continuous midwifery care is effective in addressing the main problems of the mother and baby, increasing breastfeeding success, and supporting appropriate contraceptive decision-making. These findings confirm the clinical significance of consistent, evidence-based midwifery practice in optimizing maternal and newborn health outcomes.
